The Best Margarita You'll Ever Have (and maybe the healthiest)
OK, so the "best" and "healthiest" margarita is a pretty serious claim, but that doesn't mean it isn't the truth. We've taken the margarita and found the perfect balance between healthful and freaking delicious.
Zest of 1/2 Lime
1 Lime, juiced by hand
1/2 Lemon, juiced by hand
1 TB Dark Agave Nectar
Pinch of Sea Salt
2 TB Orange Juice (not from concentrate!)
2-3 oz Tequila Reposado (we recommend Altos Tequila -- great for the $)
Fill a rocks glass with ice and place in freezer.
Combine in a shaker: lime zest, lime and lemon juice, agave nectar, salt, OJ, and tequila reposado. Fill with ice. Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds. Add more OJ to taste if too sour for your taste.
Remove glass with ice from freezer, shake shaker vigorously one more time, strain ingredients into glass over ice. Adjust ingredients accordingly to your taste. Optional: use a lime wedge to rim the edge of the glass and roll in coarse sea or Kosher salt. You should have some left over for a second drink or to share with a friend. Cheers!
